    Abstract
    Photograph of the Iron City Mill showing the buildings at the mill, railroad tracks and cars, equipment and piles of bags. The Iron City Mill, which was located just south of Black Hawk, operated for many years. The exact dates of operation for this mill have not been determined, but it was still in use when this photograph was taken in the early 1900s. The Iron City mill was a twenty-five stamp mill, and it was one of at least fifteen stamp mills operating in the Black Hawk area in 1899. The photograph shows the ore carts going into the upper level of the mill where the rocks were pulverized by the twenty-five stamps, which were heavy iron shoes that were lifted by a cam wheel and dropped on the ore-bearing rocks. Each stamp weighed between 500 and 700 pounds, and the stamps were dropped 27 to 35 times a minute. The noise made by the stamps was deafening. Mercury was used to amalgamate the gold.     Export search results

    The export option will allow you to export the current search results of the entered query to a file. Different formats are available for download. To export the items, click on the button corresponding with the preferred download format.

    By default, clicking on the export buttons will result in a download of the allowed maximum amount of items.

    To select a subset of the search results, click "Selective Export" button and make a selection of the items you want to export. The amount of items that can be exported at once is similarly restricted as the full export.

    After making a selection, click one of the export format buttons. The amount of items that will be exported is indicated in the bubble next to export format.
