Abstract
This project presents MATLAB apps designed as an interactive computational tool to aid students and professionals in enhancing their understanding of basic electromagnetic behaviors of a class of transmission lines through visualization. The apps calculates and display parameters related to the analysis and design of transmission lines like coaxial cables, parallel plates waveguide, and two wire. The user can dynamically visualize the frequency-dependent behavior of key characteristics of these transmission lines. Among these characteristics are the transmission line equivalent circuit elements; Resistance per unit length (R'), Capacitance per unit length (C'), Conductance per unit length (G'), and Inductance per unit length (L'). Users can easily input fundamental cable geometrical dimensions and surrounding media electrical properties such as inner radius, outer radius, relative media permittivity, and frequency, with designated slider controls enabling real-time parameter adjustments. The apps then generate graphical figures displaying R', C', G', and L' versus frequency, providing an intuitive understanding of how these parameters evolve with varying frequency. By bridging theoretical concepts with visual representation, these tools serve as an accessible learning resource, fostering deeper comprehension of coaxial cable, parallel plate waveguides, and two wire behavior in electromagnetic systems.
