Abstract
There is consensus that Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is an integral activity in the effort to limit global warming and its harmful effects. That contribution requires a significant scaling of CCS operations. To name just one example, the International Energy Agency (IEA)'s most recent Net Zero scenario includes CCS removing one billion tons of CO₂ per year by 2030 and six billion tons by 2050, up from 45 million tons captured and stored in 2022.
