dc.description127 Manitou Series. In Williams Canon. Collier's Rocky Mountain Scenery. Published at Central City Colorado.
No. 127. Williams' Cañon is a very narrow and deep chasm in the rocks which comes into Glen Eyrie. The rocks here are nearly horizontal and are strangely worn and fissured. The Cañon is often so narrow that one may reach from side to side with his outstretched arms. The sandstone limestone and conglomerate strata are cleft in wonderful forms mostly rectangular. The foliage is scrub oak and cedar; the former annually loaded with a heavy fruitage of acorns--Verso.
