Abstract
Slide showing two churches in Fairplay, and the one on the right is the Sheldon Jackson Memorial Chapel. This Presbyterian church with gothic architecture was built in 1874 under the leadership of Sheldon Jackson. In 1869 Jackson became the superintendent of all the Presbyterian missions in the West, and he moved his headquarters to Denver in 1871. He organized a congregation of Presbyterians in Fairplay in 1872 and provided them with assistance in the subsequent years. The church building is still in use and is now the South Park Community Church.
