This plant was built in 1949 by the Vanadium Corporation of America under contract with the US Atomic Energy Commission to process copper-uranium ores from nearby mines. The small mill operated as a pilot plant to supply uranium concentrate to the AEC until it was shut down in 1953. The mill was dismantled in about 1954.
