The Mill was located in Tamarack Mills near Hubbell, Michigan and was in operation by 1910. It processed ore from the Ahmeek Mine, an underground copper mine in the Keweenaw Peninsula that was operated by Calumet & Hecla Consolidated Copper Company after 1922. Ore from the Mine was transported by train to the Ahmeek Mill.
