Williams' Cañon is a very narrow and deep chasm in the rocks which comes into Glen Eyrie. The rocks here are nearly horizontal and are strangely worn and fissured. The Cañon is often so narrow that one may reach from side to side with his outstretched arms. The sandstone limestone and conglomerate strata are cleft in wonderful forms mostly rectangular. The foliage is scrub oak and cedar; the former annually loaded with a heavy fruitage of acorns--Verso.Date scanned: 2000-10-19.Identifier: SC162.Mounted on cardboard; text on front and verso.Related stereopairs: SC114Held in the Russell L. and Lyn Wood Mining History Archive, Arthur Lakes Library, Colorado School of Mines.Stereopair showing the rock formations in Williams' Canyon, which is just north of Manitou Springs.Rights management statement available at: http://library.mines.edu/digital/rights.htmlScenes, canyonIn Williams' CanyonStillImage
