    Abstract
    Postcard showing the Hoover Dam (Boulder Dam) and appurtenant works under construction. It is located in the Black Canyon between Nevada and Arizona. In 1928, the U.S. Congress passed the Boulder Canyon Project Act, which authorized the construction of the Boulder Dam on the Colorado River. In 1930, President Herbert Hoover signed a bill appropriating the funds for its construction, and Six Companies Inc. was awarded the contract to build the dam. Construction on the Boulder Dam began in 1931, and it was completed in 1935. President Franklin D. Roosevelt dedicated the dam on September 30, 1935. The dam's powerplant wings were completed in 1936, and its first generator began operating that year. The seventeenth and final generator began operating in 1961. On April 30, 1947, a joint resolution of Congress decreed that the name of the dam be changed to Hoover Dam after President Herbert Hoover, who had strongly supported its construction.     Export search results

    The export option will allow you to export the current search results of the entered query to a file. Different formats are available for download. To export the items, click on the button corresponding with the preferred download format.

    By default, clicking on the export buttons will result in a download of the allowed maximum amount of items.

    To select a subset of the search results, click "Selective Export" button and make a selection of the items you want to export. The amount of items that can be exported at once is similarly restricted as the full export.

    After making a selection, click one of the export format buttons. The amount of items that will be exported is indicated in the bubble next to export format.
