dc.description.abstract | Photograph of one of the ore trucks belonging to the Vanadium Corporation of America, which owned uranium-vanadium mines in Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico. The ore from the Vanadium Corporation of America's mines was trucked to their processing plants in Durango, Naturita, Monticello, Hite, and Shiprock. In 1955, for example, approximately forty trucks loaded with carnotite ore were driven daily from the Monument #2 Mine near Kayenta, Arizona to the processing plant in Durango, Colorado. | |
