dc.description.abstractThe mineral specimen showing crystals of brown siderite comes from the Alice Glory Hole, located in the Alice mining district, Clear Creek County, Colorado. The Alice Mine, which included an open pit, was being worked in the early 1880s, closed, then reopened in 1933 for a brief time. The pit was filled in 1988 as part of the reclamation of the site.
