dc.description.abstractThe mineral specimen comes from the Sedalia Mine, located in the Sedalia mining district, Chaffee County, Colorado. The Sedalia Mine was discovered in about 1883 and was worked intermittently until 1923. It was the largest copper mine in the state, as well as producing other metals. The Sedalia district is also often included in the Turret district.
