dc.description.abstractThe mineral specimen comes from the Freeland-Lamartine Mine, located in the Freeland-Lamartine mining district, Clear Creek County, Colorado. Gold was discovered at the Freeland Mine in 1861 and the Lamartine vein was discovered in 1867. The Freeland and Lamartine mines were the primary producers in the district.
