dc.description.abstractA man sits at a cage hoist at the Sherwood Mine. The Sherwood Mine was an underground mine near Iron River, Michigan in the Menominee Range. The Mine was open from 1931-1975. It was the last working underground iron mine in Iron County, and was operated by Inland Steel Company.
