USBM #53063; Mesabi Cliffs Company, Holman-Cliffs Mine, Taconite, Itasca County, Minnesota. Trucks backed over pocket on built-up ramp. Directly underneath are loading chutes for loading railroad ore cars which are then moved to wash plant. Two types of trucks are shown. The one left is a Euclid 15 ton capacity, hydraulic end dump. Note hood over the cap. This hood confines exhaust gases and noises. Extending exhaust over hood would lessen the noise for the driver. The truck on right is a Koehring Dumptor 7-ton capacity gravity dump.
