  • Experimental investigation of cylindrical shock wave interactions

    Eliasson, Veronica; Rabinowitz, Grace I.
Raw data from the shock interaction study using the exploding wire experiment. Schlieren images and pressure data are included. The supplemental zip file, EWS - schlieren.zip, was provided on December 4, 2023. Updated data files in the zip folder. Exploding Wire Data.zip, was provided on January 28, 2024.
  • Four-parameter composite beam stiffness optimization dataset (dataset sample)

Steuben, John Christopher; Turner, Cameron J.
This is a dataset sample. The dataset describes the relation between the stiffness of a cantilevered composite beam and its manufacturing parameters. This dataset is used to design a beam of required stiffness. Two pieces of software (executables, not code) are included for this analysis. HyperMaps is used to build a spline-based surrogate model of the beam’s constitutive behavior. GraphNURBs is used to conduct robust optimization on the surrogate model to find the most robust beam design that achieves the specified target stiffness. Mathematica notebooks (.nb files) for generating the data and visualizing the robust optimization output are also included. Data consists of four input parameters (fiber modulus and angle in a two-ply symmetric layup) and one output parameter (beam stiffness).
