| dc.description.abstract | Ed Raines, a geologist, mineralogist, and mining historian, talks about the history of the Gilman mining district. This lecture provides an overview of the mineralization in this area and includes information about zinc ores, zinc, and brass, as well as information about the New Jersey Zinc Company. Ed also explains the history and importance of metallurgical processes, such as froth flotation, and discusses some of the commercial uses of zinc and brass. | |
