dc.description.abstractPhotograph showing the town of Christmas in Gila County, Arizona. Road cuts and mine tailings are visible on the left hand side of the photograph. The Christmas lode was discovered in the late 1870s at the site of the town of Christmas. The Mine began large scale operations in the early 1900s. The town was finally abandoned in the 1980s.
