Abstract
Photograph showing the Arapahoe County Courthouse, which was located on the corner of 16th and Court Place in Denver, and its architecture was designed by Frederick C. Eberley. Construction of the courthouse began in 1881 and was completed in 1883. The courthouse was built of sandstone quarried near Canon City and originally had three stories and a basement. A fourth story was added in 1893. Its dome was the second highest in the city (the State Capitol Building had the highest). The total construction cost for the courthouse was $432,602.74. It was demolished in 1933.
