Abstract
A Barney car is a small car attached to a rope and used to push trucks up a ramp from behind. The Galbraith open pit iron mine in the Mesabi Range in Itasca County, Minnesota was operated by Butler Brothers. Butler Brothers was acquired by the M. A. Hanna Company in the 1940s.
