Abstract
The mineral specimen comes from the Sherman Tunnel Mine, a silver mine located in Iowa Gulch near Leadville in the Leadville mining district, Lake County, Colorado. The Sherman Tunnel Mine was opened in 1968 and operated with interruptions until 1982. This locale is known for its specimens of yellow or golden barite.
