Abstract
Two miners stand on a safety platform next to ore cars on rails underground in an Arizona copper mine. The Miami Copper Company began working the porphyry copper deposits in the Miami area in 1906. Miners from nearby Globe walked the miles to the Miami mines until the town of Miami was established in 1907. The Company operated mines and processing facilities in the area until the early 1930s when production was curtailed.
