Abstract
The Swan Creek Mine was one of the coal mines in the Saginaw Valley coal field in Saginaw County, Michigan. Coal production in the area was strong from the 1890s through World War I, after which mining activity began to decline. The Swan Creek Mine was reportedly opened in the 1940s. It was the last producing coal mine in Michigan and closed in 1952.
