Abstract
Optical components called metasurfaces control the phase, amplitude, and polarization of light waves using a two-dimensional array of optical resonators. Analysis of these metasurfaces is useful for their design and application. A bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF) setup is optimal for this. This setup measures the radiant and irradiant light and compares them. A BRDF setup was created in the lab with mobile arms that rotate around a sample. The arm movement was coded in LabView. It will allow for continued metasurface development for possible uses in optical computing, LiDAR, hologram generation, and other optical components.
