Abstract
Timbered shafts of the Old Faithful claim, Lilly Belle mine with rails leading downward, Lilly Belle Mining and Milling Corporation, Gunnison County. Caption reads: "Mine portal interior, Lilly Belle. Tracks at left lead 120 feet down a 35% grade into 4% powdered tungsten ore in the Old Faithful claim of the Lilly Belle Mining and Milling corporation in Southern Gunnison County. Tracks at right in this NEWS-CHAMPION photo lead over over a trestle to an ore house. Shipments of the tungsten concentrate are expected to begin early in 1954, according to Ed Douglas, head geologist for the closed corporation owned by many persons of small income in Colorado Springs."
