Abstract
Prospector Boyd Veneble in field gear with a rock hammer, seated at a rock face, Dolores County, Colorado. Accompanying text reads "Sunday prospector is Boyd W. Venable, above, whose job is that of serving the Rico-Argentine Company at Rico, Colo., as mining engineer, but whose hobby is prospecting over the slopes and upthe canyons in this 9,500 feet altitude locality. Venable spent more than three years in the Navy as a deck engineering and gunnery officer and was released in the rank of lieutenant. A native of Ogden, Utah, and a graduate of the state university, he interrupted his employment with the Rico-Argentine Company for Navy duty." Accompanying tag from the Cocks-Clark Engraving Company.
