Abstract
A miner operates an electric locomotive underground to dump a trainload of ore into a shaft by the tracks, Park County. Caption reads: "Alma Region. London Mining & Milling." Accompanying caption reads: "No. 2142 Silver mining. Alma region. Colorado. London M & M. In modern mining properties, the hauling is done by electric locomotives which get their power from storage batteries which they carry. In the above picture, a trainload of ore is being brought from remote drifts to the unloading point. It will be discharged from the cars here, into the shaft in left foreground. It will then drop several hundred feet, to the haulage tunnel below."
