Abstract
Photograph showing two men and a woman standing next to a bulldozer at the Monument #2 Mine, which was one of the largest producers of carnotite ore during the uranium boom of the 1950s. It was located north of Kayenta, Arizona and owned by the Vanadium Corporation of America, which had contracts to provide uranium to the Atomic Energy Commission. The carnotite ore from this mine was trucked to the Vanadium Corporation of America's Durango Mill where uranium concentrate (yellow cake) and vanadium concentrate (red cake) were extracted from it.
