Abstract
The Durango smelter buildings and brick smoke stack in operation, with a slag pile in the background.
Caption reads: "This is a view of the smelter located in Durango. The two small buildings just to the right of the smokestack are for the plant supt and the other is a weigh station for all trucks bringing in ore to be processed. The white mound to the back of the smelter is the slag pile. This slag mound is actually not white in color. It is made mostly of different colors of light browns and this is brought about by the many different colors of the ore that has been processed. 1955."
