This Boom Days event combines the deep knowledge of Ed Raines, Collections Manager at Mines Geology Museum, and the art of Claire van der Plas, Assistant Dean of Instruction at Colorado Mountain College, Leadville. Ed Raines, a geologist, mineralogist, and mining historian, provides an overview of some mining terminology as well as the equipment and methods used in the early days of mining. Claire van der Plas describes her background as an artist and the inspiration behind some of her artwork.
